Diabetes can reduce feeling in your feet and slow down healing. That means a small blister can turn into a wound before you notice it.
Your daily routine
- Look at the tops, bottoms, and between your toes
- Use a mirror or ask someone to help if it is hard to see
- Check for cuts, blisters, redness, or swelling
- Keep skin moisturized, but not between the toes
When to see us
Call us right away if you find a wound that is not healing, or new redness or warmth. We also recommend a diabetic foot exam at least once a year.
