University of South Carolina’s Connor Shaw Recovering Well after Foot Surgery
Connor Shaw, South Carolina quarterback, injured his left foot on October 19 during a game against Tennessee.
Shaw suffered a stress fracture in his foot and damage to two ligaments. That didn’t stop him from playing out the rest of the season, though. Shaw continued playing with the help of pain pills and injections to help reduce his pain.
That is not recommended. You can cause a lot of damage by attempting to continue playing in this way. If you sustain an injury to your feet or ankles, we recommend you stop playing sports until you see a podiatrist for a proper diagnosis and treatment.
After the season was over, Shaw underwent surgery on the injured foot. The surgery took place in January. Shaw missed out on spring practices due to the surgery, but he has been taking part in all the summer practices and seems to be back on the right track.
Hopefully, he will continue to recover well and we will see him back on the field as a quarterback when the football season begins.
