Thinking About Taking Up Jogging?

Jogging is a popular form of exercise. It can be a stimulating pursuit and can benefit your physical health, but it is important that you go about it safely.

Many people think jogging is perfect because you don’t need anything to do it. And that is almost completely true. You don’t need a glove or a bat or a ball to participate in jogging. But there is one tool you need and it is crucial: a good pair of running shoes.

If you plan on running and/or jogging regularly, a good pair of running shoes can help to prevent injury to your feet and ankles. If you just grab an old pair of sneakers to run in, you could injure your feet. Your feet need different kinds of support when you’re walking than when you are running and jogging.

You are putting a lot of pressure on your feet when you run or jog and your shoes need to have plenty of cushioning and shock absorption to make up for it.

The type of running shoe you need is dependent on your foot type. To find out more about choosing an athletic shoe based on foot type, watch the video above, The Perfect Shoe Selection.

Whatever type of shoe you settle on, remember to replace them twice a year or about every four hundred miles.

If you have suffered a running injury and would like to set up an appointment with our office, you can contact us at 615-220-8788 or at our toll-free number 888-713-0906. You can also request an appointment online.
