Tampa Bay Rays’ Evan Longoria Dealing with Painful Plantar Fasciitis
Evan Longoria, third baseman for the Tampa Bay Rays, has been dealing with painful plantar fasciitis in his right foot lately.
Apparently, the foot had been bothering Longoria for a couple weeks and became really problematic during the Red Sox series.
Longoria has been forced to act as a designated hitter for the last two games due to the plantar fasciitis in his foot, but he hopes after taking this time off the plantar fasciitis will clear up and he will be able to stay in the lineup for upcoming games.
Plantar fasciitis is a common sports injury and can take a while to recover from. Fortunately, the pain caused by the condition can usually be taken care of with conservative measures. Stretching exercises are commonly utilized in treating plantar fasciitis pain. Orthotic devices may also be recommended for extra arch support and changes in shoes can be helpful if your shoes are not offering enough support.
