An ankle sprain is an injury to the ligament(s) in your ankle. Ligaments are like rubber bands that connect your bones to one another and bind your joints together. In your ankle joint, the ligaments provide stability. Sprained ankles often result from a fall, a sudden twist, or a blow that forces the ankle joint out of its normal position. Ankle sprains commonly occur while participating in sports, wearing inappropriate shoes, or walking or running on an uneven surface. If you are experiencing pain or soreness, bruising, swelling, difficulty walking, and/or stiffness in joints of your ankle, you should visit your local podiatrist.

In the video, Dr. Neuhaus further explains the symptoms of ankle sprains as well as an effective way to evaluate and treat an ankle sprain. Treating an ankle sprain properly and aggressively will help prevent the ankle from causing any future issues with the joint. To learn more about an ankle sprain, please visit our website at www.neufoot.com. If we can be of any assistance with you to help treat an ankle sprain, please call our office at (615) 220-8788. Dr Jason Knox explains problems with the Sesamoid bone that is located at the ball of the foot. A sesamoid bone is a bone in a tendon and in the foot we have two sesamoid bones. If you are experiencing pain and/or inflammation in the area of the sesamoid bone, you may have sesamoiditis, or even a sesamoid fracture. If you are having problems with the ball of your foot, please call our office to schedule an appointment at (615) 220-8788.
