We recently made a shoe donation to the Nashville Rescue Mission to drop off all the shoes we have collected in the past 3 months. We collected 6 garbage bags full of shoes! We started this project 2 years ago and never planned for this to continue being so successful.

Our practice to would like to send a HUGE thanks to Fleet Feet Murfreesboro for donating 4 bags of shoes just in the past 3 months. We would also like to thank everyone who has donated a pair of shoes in one of our collection boxes. It's because of the amount of donations we receive that we continue this community project.

If you would like to donate a pair of shoes to one of our collection boxes, they are located all throughout Smyrna and Murfreesboro. We have donation boxes at Fleet Feet Murfreesboro, Kroger on Sam Ridley, Fresenius Dialysis Center, Mayfield Rehabilitation Center, outside the office of Tennessee Medicine and Pediatics, and in our office. For more information, please call our office at (615) 220-8788.

An ankle sprain is an injury to the ligament(s) in your ankle. Ligaments are like rubber bands that connect your bones to one another and bind your joints together. In your ankle joint, the ligaments provide stability. Sprained ankles often result from a fall, a sudden twist, or a blow that forces the ankle joint out of its normal position. Ankle sprains commonly occur while participating in sports, wearing inappropriate shoes, or walking or running on an uneven surface. If you are experiencing pain or soreness, bruising, swelling, difficulty walking, and/or stiffness in joints of your ankle, you should visit your local podiatrist.

In the video, Dr. Neuhaus further explains the symptoms of ankle sprains as well as an effective way to evaluate and treat an ankle sprain. Treating an ankle sprain properly and aggressively will help prevent the ankle from causing any future issues with the joint. To learn more about an ankle sprain, please visit our website at www.neufoot.com. If we can be of any assistance with you to help treat an ankle sprain, please call our office at (615) 220-8788. Neuhaus Foot & Ankle is just outside of Nashville, TN in Smyrna and Brentwood.

The most common complaint Neuhaus Foot and Ankle hears from patients is that their feet hurt when they first wake up in the morning. This tends to be followed by, "This usually goes away as the day continues so this is why I have put coming to you for my foot pain." Because this is so common, I feel that it is important to educate you on the possible conditions this pain could be from. Some of the reasons include Plantar Fasciitis, Achilles Tendonitis, and tight ligaments. Ultimately, foot pain is not normal and you should never think that foot pain is normal. If you have any type of consistent foot pain, you should visit your local Podiatrist.

In the following video, Dr. Matthew Neuhaus gives many reasons why your feet could hurt when you wake up in the morning. We are located in the Nashville, TN area in Smyrna and Brentwood. If you have any questions or would like to make an appointment with us, call us at (615) 220-8788 or visit our website at www.neufoot.com.

It's possible! Your feet carry the weight of your body while you are performing your daily activities. Therefore, weight gain can cause foot pain, but this is not the only reason. We have recently implemented a program into our practice to help our patients become healthy and to reduce the amount of foot pain our patients are experiencing if our patients are interested in the program. No matter what the cause is for your foot pain, it is important that you take care of your foot pain and make an appointment with your local podiatrist if you have foot pain. Foot pain is not normal. We want your feet to be happy and healthy and will treat you foot problems to the best of our ability!

Dr. Matthew Neuhaus discusses the important of living a healthy lifestyle and how you can keep your doctor's visits to a minimum by losing weight the right way and keeping the weight off for good.
