Stephen Curry of the Golden State Warriors Out With Ankle Sprain
Stephen Curry, point guard for the Golden State Warriors, injured his right ankle Wednesday morning and is now out recovering.
Curry repeatedly sprained the same ankle in the 2010-2011 and 2011-2012 seasons and has had surgery on the ankle in the past to repair torn ligaments.
At this point, it is uncertain when Curry will be able to return to the court.
There are many treatment options available for sprained ankles and in most cases ankle sprains can be treated using conservative methods. Conservative treatment options for ankle sprains may include:
- A cast or walking boot
- Stretching exercises
- Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory medications
- A compression stocking or elastic bandage
Remember to always consult a physician before taking medication. In cases that are more severe, surgery may be needed to treat the ankle sprain. It is important to have ankle sprains treated because untreated ankle sprains can lead to chronic ankle instability.
