New York Yankees’ Zoilo Almonte Goes on Disabled List for Ankle Sprain
Zoilo Almonte, a rookie starting left fielder for the New York Yankees, sprained his ankle recently during a game against the Red Sox.
The injury occurred in the second inning when Almonte attempted to beat out a double play. Almonte didn’t end up leaving the game until the fifth inning.
The Yankees lost the game 4-2.
Almonte has had x-rays taken of the ankle, which came back negative.
Almonte was placed on the 15-day disabled list on Saturday to give him time to rest the ankle and recuperate from the injury.
We wish Almonte the best with his recovery and hope he is able to get back on the field soon.
