New York Giants’ Antrel Rolle Suffering Foot Pain, Not Ankle Pain

Blog Category:

Antrel Rolle, safety for the New York Giants, suffered an injury, an ankle sprain, and was taken off the field about six weeks ago. Rolle is still recuperating and healing after the injury, and isn’t quite ready to return to the field yet.

However, the pain Rolle is suffering now is not in his ankle, which seems to be much better, but in his foot. Apparently, the injury may have been sustained in his foot moreso than in his ankle, and now he is waiting on the foot to heal.

Rolle plans to be back on the field very soon, though, and doesn’t expect to miss out on playing time due to the foot pain.

Rolle has said he will play on the foot whether or not it is still sore and plans on taping it if he has to, and using treatments after play such as icing, stretching, and acupuncture.

It is not recommended for an athlete to continue playing on an injured foot. An injury can take longer to heal, or even become worse, if the athlete does not rest properly and give the injury time to heal.
