Michigan Wolverines’ Caris LeVert Suffers Ankle Sprain
Caris LeVert, guard for the Michigan Wolverines, suffered an ankle sprain Sunday during a game against the Nittany Lions.
The injury forced him out of the game during the second half. At this point, LaVert’s status for upcoming games is uncertain.
The Wolverines also have another player, Jordan Morgan, struggling with an ankle injury. Morgan injured his ankle last month but is still recovering from the injury. Morgan was able to go into Sunday’s game, but didn’t stay in for long.
It is important to always have ankle sprains treated appropriately and to take enough time off to let the ankle heal. You do not want to keep pushing yourself through the pain to continue with sports activities if you have suffered an ankle injury. You could cause the injury to worsen.
Untreated ankle sprains can lead to chronic ankle instability.
If you have suffered an ankle injury that you believe to be a sprain or a fracture, use the “R.I.C.E.” method until you can seek medical attention. The “R.I.C.E.” method includes rest, ice, compression, and elevation.
