British Rapper Cancels Show Due to Achilles Tendinitis

ExampleExample, a British rapper and singer, had to cancel all of his shows in October due to Achilles Tendinitis. He also was forced to cancel shows in September for the same reason. It is unclear what caused the rapper’s Achilles Tendinitis, but sudden increases in repetitive activity is usually what leads to the disorder. That is why Achilles Tendinitis is a common disorder for athletes and for those whose work causes them to be on their feet a lot.

Whatever the cause, the rapper, whose real name is Elliot Gleave, took to twitter to apologize to his fans for cancelling his shows.
His tweet read, “With huge regret I’ve had to cancel/reschedule all my Oct shows. My Achilles Tendonitis has got worse and I need time to recover...”

He also said that he hopes to be back to full fitness in time to play all of his November and December shows and will have details on those upcoming shows available soon.

As you can see, Achilles Tendinitis can be extremely painful and can keep you off your feet for a long time so it is important to prevent the disorder. Here are a few tips to help you prevent Achilles Tendinitis:

  • Strengthen and stretch your calf muscles through daily exercises.
  • Always wear shoes with appropriate supports. This will help stabilize your feet and ankles. 
  • Always wear the proper shoes for the activity you are performing. For example, running shoes for running. Different shoes are made for each activity and sport for a reason and you should pay attention to that. Your foot needs different support for different activities.

Also, pay attention to pain in your feet and ankles and address it. Don’t leave pain untreated. The treatments for Achilles Tendinitis vary and are based on the degree of injury to tendon and how long the injury has been present. The earlier you catch it, the more conservative your treatment may be.
